- Evening Herald
Adsell's first foray into broadcast television could not have been more successful.
The Professionals was a four part documentary series about middle ranking sports professionals, those who struggle in relative obscurity for the love of the game
and a basic wage. RTE' s Independent Productions Unit commissioned the series.
The Jockey' - the episode which profiled Joanna Morgan as she reached the end of an interesting career on the racetrack, was selected for screening at the prestigious Banff Television Festival, taking its place alongside such programmes as Frasier, NYPD Blue, ER and Father Ted.
From a total of 722 entries from 38 countries, Adsell's 'The Professionals'
was one of only two Irish productions selected for the Festival.
Adsell has continued to work in the area of broadcast and in recent years were
involved with productions for RTE as well as producing a documentary
on Derrinstown Stud in Maynooth for Dubai National Television. |
